The paint won t dry for weeks and then it will just bubble and flake off. Watch this video to find out more. When painting tiles with epoxy or tile paint make sure the area is well. Paint over the tile with a bonding primer.

Fine grit 400 grit or higher sandpaper is sufficient for deglossing the tile prior to painting. After the primer has dried paint the walls with epoxy paint. Tile paint works best on vertical surfaces that receive less abuse including backsplashes wall tile and wainscot tile. Step 2 if your floor has slate tile and not ceramic you can try using a tile seal available at your local tile distributor.

Add a clear coat of polyurethane if desired. Match the material to the rest of the tiles. Use a roller to apply paint evenly to the tile. Wipe the tile down to clean it and remove any sanding dust.

You can floor tile and wall tile with ceramic wall paint if you follow a few simple steps using high quality product. We contemplated replacing the tile but have another long term plan in mind and didn t want to go to the trouble or expense so decided to use ceramic. These tiles are narrow with a rounded top and come in smooth finish textured and molded finishes. It is extremely durable and washable.

Make sure to paint grout as well. Sand the surface of the tile with 100 grit sandpaper. This paint is made to stick to tile. Let the paint dry for 24 to 48 hours until it is completely dry.
